I just finished The Twilight series. I thought it would be "teenage-y", but I enjoyed it. It's a huge commitment - just like Harry Potter....................over 2,500 pages.

Marie, hope the doctor can get you feeling better soon.
I loved the first 4 Harry Potter books . . . then I just lost interest for some reason. I haven't read the Twilight series yet (yeah, I know, for some one who works in library I should have!) but I might. It does sound interesting and so many of our patrons (even some men) really like the books. I've been trying to read more first time authors. I just started a book "The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane", by Katherine Howe. I'm only on the third chapter but it is really, really good so far. Here's a blurb, "A spellbinding beautifully written novel that moves between contemporary times and one of the most fascinating and disturbing periods in American history - the Salem witch trials". I'll let you know how I like it :)

Have a great night!
Love all the book talk lately!

Does everyone know about Wowbrary (http://www.wowbrary.org )? Our library does it, so you might want to check to see if yours does. It is a website that sends a weekly update of new items added to the library. I just started getting it.

Laura
Cool Laura - I didn't know about this. I just signed up, but our library isn't participating yet. We do have the new materials on our web site though.
OOh, books are my fave. I read the 1st 4 harry potters in 11 days back to back and then i read the hobbit and lord of the rings trilogy in 2 months just so i could compare them all to the films when i watched them. I have now read all 7 Harry Potters but then i get upset with the movies as the version in my head is so much better than the film. Unlike Lord of the Rings films - they were amazing.

My fave author is Terry Pratchett and i have almost all his books in my personal collection.

I can't read anything realistic at all, i have always been into sci fi and fairy tales. I had a huge collection of Beatrix Potter and Enid Blyton boks as a child.

All the books i buy now tend to be yarn related as nothing else seems to keep my attention.

Anyway must go to work or i will be late!

See u all later.

Marie
So after a lot of thinking I have a decision and a plan. Currently dh and I are thinking about doing a craft show at the end of September plus I'd like to make quite a few Christmas gifts this year not to mention some things for the baby. So I've decided to only make challenge items to list in my store. The other team I'm on does a monthly challenge so that means I'll either only list 1 or 2 items a month. I've also decided I need to make an inventory list so that i know what I have already and what else I think I want to make for the craft fair.
Hello ladies...nice to read from everyone again ... I just finished my second day (6:30 am - 1:00 pm) volunteering at the Outpost at the Bank's Lake Wildlife Refuge...I made it past the crickets and worms better today than yesterday and on Saturday, I'll probably learn how to process a fishing license. I'm so tired from having to get up at 5:30 am twice in a row - I'm such a whimp!

Tmorrow I have to concentrate on getting ready for my Saturday morning's sale where I'm taking my crocheted stuff and other items to town. I will load the car tomorrow night so that I can get up early (once again) to set up. I'll stay no longer than noon because it's hot as hell here and then go back to the Outpost for some more training. Gizzy will hate me!

Hope all is well with you. I'm taking a nap!
Nice catching up with everyone, what they are doing, reading, and preparing to do! Here is a treasury west that includes some of our talented Etsyhookers, along with shops from my other two teams. Like exposing others to what is done by others and not just their own team. Enjoy!

I am in middle of applying to have my tawashi patterns sold at YouCanMakeThis.com. I sent them a photo of my tawashi patterns and they sent back that they were interested in all of them, so I had to give them some more information and one sample pattern. Hopefully they will get back to me soon.

They do take 50%, which is higher than fees and such elsewhere, but I would not have to deal with anything once I sent them the patterns. They would just send me money through paypal once a month. I think a couple other members of our team (or former members --- have not checked to see if they are still members) sell patterns there. I would not plan on selling every pattern I ever do there, but hopefully selling a few there would draw people to find my other patterns online.

I have decided I need to take the evening off, even though I have a ton to do to get ready for Vacation Bible Camp and a pile of letter patterns to work on. I finished up my custom order tonight and will try to just be happy with that. If I feel like crocheting, I may try to work on a gift project instead of something for my shop or for writing a pattern.

Laura
