Team Twitter Account

Hi all! I asked Julie a bit ago about starting a group twitter account. She said it was okay. It would be for everyone and you'd be able to post links to new blog posts, new listings, team events, etc, etc. We can add it to our Etsy pages so maybe we could get our customers to add it for updates as well.

So, pretty much, it would be for updating us and the customers. I love twitter.

So for any team member wanting to add anything to it please contact me or Julie for the login and password and we'll pass it along. Here's the url:

We can also link and find any contacts from the Etsy Hookers gmail account. So, if you want to Julie, you could go under "Find People" and then under "Invite from other networks" and it'll take the contacts from the gmail account and look for them in twitter.

Don't forget to add your own twitter as a contact!

Now it's just waiting for it's first tweet! I hope this helps with promotions! I love twitter. I'm kinda addicted. :)

For personal use it would be just to put in a thought or what you're doing at the time. It's a mini blog. I've even done mini chats on there a few times.

For team or store twitters, they've been used to update the people that follow you. So, for instance once we have customers follow us, we can update them pretty much instantly with new listing links, blog posts, etc. So, for people like me that pretty much always have it up (I use twitterfox which is a firefox app) if you're following a shop or Etsy Team you can see when items are added.

Most of the people I know have the posts go to their cell phones as texts.

It's just a more instant communication. Without twitter I would've missed out on the virtual labs I've gone to. Plus, it reminds me about the Etsy articles, too. I follow a couple of shops on there and I know instantly when they list a new item.

Well, we first need to get our customers and friends to follow us. So, for anyone that has a twitter just post that there's a new Etsy Hookers Team twitter and hopefully the followers will add us.

Also, anyone with a blog, post a blog post about it as well. I'm sure people would follow us through blogs.

The key to using it effectively is just to post whenever you have a new listing, posting about new events and reminding followers about events.

That's all I can really say. If you follow Etsy or any type of other group you can see how they use it. It's just really good to keep people updated.

D,,,,,I am a little confused.....Are we supposed to log into EtsyHooker Twitter *using the the codes you listed above....OH I just looked and the codes are gone...Who is going to be putting the blurbs on eh twitter....Sorry I am so confused???

Julie told me that this is a public forum so that's why I changed it to ask me or Julie for the login and password.

Yes, team members are supposed to login to the twitter account and just post what you want people to be notified of.

Great news! I just found out about twitterfeed. I can set it up so when new listings/renewed items are posted in your Etsy shop it's automatically updated in twitter. Another Etsian posted how to in the forums. I've already updated my personal twitter. I was thinking I could update the team one for all the members that wanted to use it.

This way we just sit back and watch the tweets being posted. Oh, also twitterfeed updates every 30 mins so just keep that in mind. So, if you want me to add your shop either post in here or email me and I'll get to it.

How do I love twitter? Let me count the ways. :)
