Hi! I crochet baby hats with ecological yarn and use reclaimed yarn when I have it (stash is getting larger, so I use it more and more). I hope to have a complete eco-shop in the future.

Hello to all new members and welcome! I recently added a doubly eco friendly product to my shop, face scrubbies from reused cotton yarn:

You know what's so cool about crochet and reused yarn? Even if you don't wash out the creases your items look like brand new, because stitches are so much tighter than in knitting. I'm looking forward to meeting more yarn reusers here, or to convince more actual members to try it out!

I crochet cotton dish/wash cloths too, as well as cup cozies and make small throws with all the little scraps of cotton I have left, and am planning to donate to hospitals and nursing homes to people who don't have many visitors or families but whom should still get a gift or two at special times of the year.

Hi all! I crochet rugs made from plastic grocery bags among other things. I do other things too but my rugs have made me more aware of the need to recycle!

I crochet coasters, dishcloths, and facial wipes. I am hoping I will be adding more eco friendly items to my shop

Hi Sherri,
Welcome to our little group. With so many new team members I hope some more will join soon!

I've been sewing and crocheting bags, napkins and washclothes lately, mostly for myself, but perhaps to sell, in an attempt to be more green! I just found this group within EtsyHookers and am excited!

I want to join! I've been making "plarn" as you call it as well and have made a few bags. I also use cotton to make mesh bags, and use old wool sweaters, combined w/ crochet embellishments usually, and felt/recycle them into bags.

Another person captivated by plarn. It makes me want to stop using my cloth bags so that I can collect come plastic bags to make it. Does that somehow defeat the purpose? Hmm...

Gene- I love the plarn idea. I might try to make my own!
