I would hate to see you go, Julie, but I do understand. My other team, the Etsy Honey Bee Helpers disintegrated and I miss them, but there was no team participation on Ning...I do keep in touch with a couple of them, but it became stagnant and it ...

I have some real fuzzy looking specialty yarn in the palest blue and I think I will try to make a similar scarf and the beads are a nice touch.

Thanks! I might do that. I enjoy crocheting that design. If I just use cotton instead of acrylic and make it a little bigger, they could work either as facial wash cloths or dish cloths...thanks! I appreciate the suggestion.

Thank you very much! I enjoy crocheting with white yarn and making snowflakes this time of year, because I miss the snow and thought that would make a great reminder of it ;-)

What is your favourite thing about crocheting?
PLEASE also see my other shop http://www.365DaysOfChristmas.Etsy.com Thank you!

Crocheting relaxes me and gives me a sense of accomplishment. I like experimenting with different yarns and love to use pretty colors. I'm still learning new techniques and I don't get bored with it. It keeps me focussed, centered and teaches me patience. I can medidate and ponder while I crochet or watch TV (with a simple pattern) and best of all, I can do it anywhere. I especially love to crochet outside. The possibilities are endless. One could crochet just about anything. (I wonder if I could crochet myself a boyfriend?) But seriously, crocheting has helped me so much during my ordeal before I had my bi-lateral hip replacements. It allowed me to feel useful and productive, even though I was unable to walk, because I had the use of my hands and lots of yarn...

The Story of Stuff

An eye-opening movie about STUFF: where it comes from, how it's made, were to get it and why we always seem to need more - and where it eventually ends up...your kids should see this too!

How Stuff Works

If you're super-busy, you can just turn on the sound and listen to it, but I think you owe it to yourself to watch this.

enjoy!

Hi Doris,
Thanks for the comment on my blog. I'm sorry I've been silent for a while. September I had two craft fairs, then October started working more hours in the office again. I really wanted to take part in the crochet challenge, but somehow didn't get around to taking pictures. Too bad as recycling is so my thing!
Now December is nearing fast with swaps and more craft fairs to come! As those are the best selling of the year I'm working hard now to stock up.
Thanks again for stopping by my blog. By the way commenting there is one of the best ways to reach me :) Stay in touch!

Hugs,
Astrid

Hi Doris! Thanks for the welcome. Yes I joined 2 months ago. I tend to go in spurts when it comes to chatter. And I'm splitting my time between kids and work right now. But I love rubbing shoulders with other crocheters and am excited to talk to others on Etsy. Lots I can learn! Thanks again!

Hi Doris
Thanks for your welcome message. Actually, I have been with the hookers for a few months, now. Just trying to get more involved now. Yes, you are right, there is always something going on.

Hi Doris! Thanks for your comment on my Upcycled Plarny Pin...I always wanted to try knitting with plastic bags and after watching a YouTube video on how to cut them into strips, I gave it a try....It's a bit tricky to crochet with, but I think they are real conversation pieces when you get done and then wear them.
