How Stuff Works If you're super-busy, you can just turn on the sound and listen to it, but I think you owe it to yourself to watch this. enjoy! Continue

A little Encouragement for the Bees and for Us all

Just a little reminder about being kind to our planet, whether it's recycling, ride sharing, switching to non-chemical cleaning supplies, buying organic, planting a sunflower for the bees...or simply using less, whatever you can do in a small way will help big time in the long run. Promise of Spring and the Milltown Murals

Today is a nice warm day with a cool, gentle breeze, a perfect day for a walk in the park or being at home with your windows wide open. I just got back with Gizzy from Roquemore Park and I wanted to share a few blossoms that are telling me spring's not far away: The camelias, of course, are busily blooming and have been for quite some time:

Outings with Gizzy

I just wanted to share a couple of photos I took recently. The weather's been nice and I like to visit Roquemore Memorial Park, so we went there on Sunday.

Gizzy likes to have a barking match with one of the dogs that lives adjacent to the park. He looks forward to rumble.… Continue

Banks Lake National Wildlife Refuge

Today, I would like to share a few photos that I took on the way to Bank's Lake because the weather was interesting with the clouds and the sun playing peek-a-boo. If you would like to know more about Bank's Lake, just click here: http://www.fws.gov/refuges/profiles/index.cfm?id=41591 On the way to the lake, I pass… Continue

My life in Georgia

I've not been a Georgian for very long (about 3 1/2 years, I think) and I'm still not used to the humidity and the bugs, but slowly it's growing on me - or vice versa. I just wanted to share a few pictures with you from my "home on the range" to make us feel more connected and to try out this "Blog" feature on Ning that I have never used before. Here's my apartment this past autumn when the two trees - one in the front and another by the back door - turned color. They're ornamentals (Japanese… Continue
